Brian Eastoe – founder member
Brian is the tutor at Oxford & Bucks Woodcarving Association. He inherited his woodcarving skills from his father and grandfather & has been carving for over 50 years, teaching for 30 of those. His greatest pleasure is encouraging others to develop their talent.
Jeffrey Wheeler- founder member
Jeff has been carving for many years. He finds passion in taking a raw piece of wood and creating something out of nothing. Geoff is an active woodcarver both at home and at club meetings.
Joan Damarell- founder member
Joan inherited her talent from her father was a skilled cabinet maker. She has been carving for six years and enjoys the therapeutic effect that it brings.
Elizabeth Aylward- founder member
Liz is the secretary of Oxford & Bucks Woodcarving Association. Liz is an active member of the group and has created many pieces including the Burford High Street carving seen below. She has a range of versatile carving abilities including a number of ornamental and practical carvings.
Michael Stevenson
Prior to retirement Mike was a skilled carpenter and joiner. He started carving at home using chisels he had bought a number of years earlier. Having discovered his enjoyment of woodcarving he joined the Oxon and Bucks and has been an active member for the last 7 years.
Terry Hardaker
Terry was a cartographer by trade. He began woodcarving in 2004. His main area of interest is creating portraits and has has branched out into creating third dimensional pieces.
